Actors Prateik Babbar and Priya Banerjee recently tied the knot in a home which had great sentimental value for the both of them, the home of Babbar's late mother and award winning actress Smita Patil. In an interview with Vogue India, Priya Banerjee shares, “We pivoted amongst different locations but nothing struck a chord. One night I had a dream about Prateik’s mom, and I knew it was our sign to get married at home as it has always held a magical sway over him.”'

The wedding was dominated by shades of ivory and cream, a theme that elegantly united all the different elements of the celebration. Pritie Jain of Bling Mushrooms was tasked with transforming the home into a stunning wedding venue, and she certainly delivered. Every surface of the house was adorned in white, with the floral arrangements consisting of mogras and tulips stealing the show.

Dia Mirza And Vaibhav Rekhi

When Dia Mirza decided to tie the knot with Mumbai-based businessman Vaibhav Rekhi, she pictured her wedding in her lush garden where she's spent most of her mornings for the last 19 years. The actor-producer, who is also the UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador, wanted her favourite mango tree to be in the backdrop, and the decor to be sustainable, without the use of plastic.

The dreamy decor was essentially created using flowers, and then some more. The Aash Studio team handpicked brands and vendors that were homegrown to support the vocal for local initiative. For the mandap frame, the team used lots of dry branches, blush pink roses, baby’s breath intertwined with mogra strings. For the backdrop, they picked hyperlocal flowers native to India like Rajnigandha strings, Sevanti strings, and created tassels with edging of Kaner, a pink Indian flower. The large mango tree was also decorated with strings of Sevanti, and tassels of tuberoses.

Alia Bhatt And Ranbir Kapoor

Interflora

The two biggest stars in India, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, also decided to ditch the regular fanfare of Bollywood and have an intimate wedding with only 40 guests in attendance. The venue for the wedding of this power couple was in the Vastu building, a place where they both own individual apartments. This wedding too was a vision in white, with a rustic enchanted forest theme that was enhanced by the inclusion of fairy lights.

The pristine and delicate floral decor, done by renowned brand Interflora, was also accentuated by the inclusion of verdant leaves and foliage that added a pop of colour to the otherwise neutral colour scheme. The couple also took a step towards environmental consciousness, by requesting that their floral decorations be repurposed or recycled.

Yami Gautam's marriage to director Aditya Dhar took place against the backdrop of picturesque mountains. Although the couple's choice for an intimate wedding ceremony was partially influenced by the restrictions of the pandemic, they affirm that even without restrictions they would have preferred to have a low-key wedding away from the glitz and glam of Bollywood.

For the marriage, the couple decided to return to Yami Gautam's hometown of Himachal Pradesh, and tied the knot at her family farmhouse nestled between the serene mountains. The surrounding forest provided a rustic and lush green backdrop to the ceremony, creating a wonderfully tranquil and intimate atmosphere for the ceremony.

All of the wedding festivities for Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar were decidedly private. The couple's mehendi and reception were both held at their Bandra residence, while the wedding itself was held at the Akhtar family's farmhouse in Khandala.

The couple exchanged their vows in the garden of the house under the shade of a magnificent tree, and surrounded by greenery all around. A small raised wooden platform acted as their stage beneath the tree, and a vivid yet warm floral arch served as a backdrop to their union.
