New Delhi now has its own porcelain paradise— Lladró’s eighth flagship store in India and the second-largest for the brand globally. Launched on the brand’s 70th-anniversary occasion, the three-storey boutique on MG Road, with an area of 475 square meters, is based on experiential concepts introduced earlier this year in New York. The store houses Lladró collections from its Heritage, New Concept and Lighting Lines, making it an unmissable destination for designers, homeowners and lovers of art and design.
For seventy years, Lladró has deployed its unparalleled know-how in the field of porcelain in Valencia, its only factory in the world. Sculptors and artisans delicately make each piece in an entirely handcrafted process that combines age-old techniques with its own unmistakable palette of colours. The most exciting thing about the New Delhi store is the access to Lladró’s complete range of porcelain creations, from its striking large High Porcelain works to contemporary sculptures, accessories and home fragrances, and its lighting line. Lladró passionately believes in nuanced craftsmanship and innovations and collaborated with Kanv Budhiraja from the homegrown Indian brand, House of Vandana, to design furniture for the MG Road boutique’s lounge, bar and VIP areas.

Lladró’s most ethereal and limited-edition High Porcelain creation, ‘Queen of the Nile’, has also found its way to the shelves of New Delhi’s flagship store. It is a spectacular composition recreating the dazzling look of an Egyptian boat. This ornate sculpture, brought to life by 12 characters creating several lively scenes, was developed over a period of five years— 400 hours invested in painting and around 150 in assembling its fragments. It depicts Nefertari, the Great Royal Wife of Ramses II, with her children and entourage on her journey down the Nile. ‘Queen of the Nile’ is undoubtedly a milestone in the history of porcelain art, surpassing the complexity and size of many great works.
India is also fortunate to house Lladró’s latest 21st-century collection, which is bold, striking, playful and contemporary. The New Delhi flagship store is the second in the world to have been launched in the format of the brand’s new concept after New York. The New Concept line combines Lladró’s most cutting-edge facet, where creativity, experimentation and technology are put to the service of contemporary creations. The collection exemplifies the potential of porcelain creations by collaborating with contemporary designers like Jaime Hayon, Paul Smith, Gary Baseman, Supakitch, Camille Walala, etc. Showcased on the store’s ground floor, collections like ‘The Guest’ by Jamie Hayon are unique, quirky and a treat to the eyes. It also exhibits Lladró’s ‘Fantasy’ collection created in collaboration with Jaime Hayon, the award-winning collection “Nightbloom” in collaboration with Marcel Wanders, and the newly launched lighting collection launched at Euroluce 2023 with Luca Nichetto.
The New Delhi flagship boutique is India’s first to display Lladró’s complete lighting collection. It features several unique lighting creations like Soft Blown, in collaboration with Nichetto Studio, Grand Prix winner Mokuren by Naoto Fukasawa, and also a custom 15-feet chandelier, ‘Niagara’ by German designer Bodo Sperlein New York Design Week winner Seasons Collection, and many more.

Technology, design and creativity come together in this boutique. An unusual virtual experience awaits one as they are transported to Valencia, Lladró’s only workshop in the world, to experience the brand’s handcrafted process via VR glasses. The viewer can witness the step-by-step process of creating the mould, cooking in the kiln and the hand-painting process of Lladró’s intricate porcelain sculptures.
