As per Vedic science, Vastu colours play a crucial role in influencing the mood and vibe of a living space. This week, Vastu Acharya Manoj Shrivastava, a Vastu Consultant from Delhi lists seven Vastu colours that can enhance different aspects of your living environment, promoting prosperity, peace, and happiness.

Blue For Serenity

Blue, the colour of the sky and ocean, is considered auspicious as it is calming and relaxing. In Vastu, lighter shades of blue are preferred as they invite peace and promote healing. Ideal for bedrooms and meditation areas, blue can help reduce stress and increase the flow of positivity. According to Vastu, painting with blue in the north-eastern parts of your home can enhance career opportunities and prosperity.

Yellow For Optimism and Enlightenment

Yellow is the colour of sunshine; symbolising warmth, optimism, and enlightenment. Vastu suggests using yellow in rooms that need an uplifting and energising environment—kitchens, dining areas, and living rooms. The north-eastern and eastern sections of the home benefit most from yellow, as it promotes health and growth.

Green For Growth and Healing

“The colour of nature is associated with healing, renewal, and positive energy,” Shrivastava says. It is especially beneficial in study rooms and areas where children spend a lot of time, as it stimulates learning and growth. Placing green in the north or east parts of the home can bring health, tranquillity, and harmony.

Red Promotes Power and Passion

Red is a powerful colour that represents passion and wealth. However, the Vastu Acharya suggests that it should be used sparingly in homes as it can also stimulate aggression, if overused. Vastu advises incorporating red elements in the living room or dining area to attract wealth but recommends softening its intensity with lighter hues or balancing it with neutral colours. The southern and south-eastern part of the home is ideal for red, as it influences fame and success.

Orange To Enhance Social Connections

“Orange is a vibrant colour that combines the vitality of red and the happiness of yellow, which is why it is one of the most popular hues in the Vedic colour scheme,” the Vastukar says. It is known for fostering social communication and optimism. Vastu recommends using orange in living rooms or prayer rooms to create a lively atmosphere and enhance connectivity among family members. It’s particularly auspicious in the northern parts of the home.

White For Stability and New Beginnings

White symbolises purity, peace, and new beginnings. This colour reflects maximum light, making spaces appear brighter and larger. According to Vastu, using white in the north-western and western parts of the home can encourage stability and support in relationships and career. It is ideal for spaces that aim for a minimalistic or contemporary aesthetic.

Pink Sparks Love and Joy

Pink, a softer derivative of red, is associated with love, joy, and warmth. Vastu recommends pink for bedrooms as it nurtures love and understanding among couples. Its soothing presence can also be beneficial in other areas of the home, promoting a feeling of warmth and comfort.

In conclusion, Shrivastava emphasises that the key is to balance these powerful colours with neutral shades to ensure that prana or positive energy flows smoothly throughout your space.
